A Fly in your Hand!!
by Gary Woods

The next time you're sitting in a lecture hall and you see somebody writing away on a notepad don't be so quick to think that person will have to go back to the dorm and transcribe all that gibberish they're scrawling to get any use out of it. That person could be using the LeapFrog FLY Fusion Pentop Computer $79.99

This device which looks like a regular pen digitizes your handwritten notes and converts them into editable text. It can get help with quadratic equations, offer homework help, or give you a quiz on history by creating virtual flash cards. It can also carry out basic language translation and even record, play and download your favorite MP3s.

When you're ready for new software, you simply connect the pen to your PC to purchase and download custom homework and gaming applications directly to your FLY Fusion Pentop Computer. Among the available titles are Writing, Algebra, Multiplication and Division, and Spanish and French Translators.

To make the pen work it has a camera at its tip that interacts with the included notebooks special FLY Fusion paper. The device also has a mini USB port for charging its battery and transferring files, including MP3s, to and from your PC.

Some of the accessories available for FLY are an expanded memory cartridge to allow you to store twice as much data, special green, red and blue ink refills and a handy dandy carrying case.

So when you see me scribbling away, don't think what's that guy doing wasting his time. I'll be computing, and don't you forget it!!
