A Lot Henges on This
by Gary Woods
These days a lot of people have been paring down their computing hardware. I've still got one of more computers in most of the rooms in my house but a lot of people have found that's way too much stuff and have cut down dramatically. That said they still want to have that computing power and monitor in different rooms and locations from their home to the office to a hiding place where hopefully no one will find them.
If you're one of those people who just really want 1 computer but aren't willing to give up that big monitor ease of use and you're firmly ensconced in the Mac Universe then it's time to check out Henge Docks (http://www.hengedocks.com/). The company has created the first truly comprehensive docking station for Apple's line of notebook computers.
With 4 models from an 11" MacBook Air Dock up to a 17" MacBook Pro Dock they've got you covered. The Docks hold the MacBook vertically so it takes up as little space as possible and requires no hardware or software alterations to your computer.
The Henge Dock reuses the MacBook's supplied MagSafe power source and Mini-DisplayPort adapter so can you have your big monitor and external keyboard plugged into the dock and then just slide the MacBook into it and there you are, styling just like you were working on a 27" iMac.
Retailing from $55 for the 11" Air Dock up to $74.95 for the 17" MacBook Pro Dock these are very cool devices which will keep you from asking the question. "Did I just leave that file I was working on at the Office???"
