A Tip of the Hat

A Tip of the Hat
by Gary Woods

We all love our tunes. It seems like everything we have from phones to iPods to anything electronic will play our favorite songs for us. But the thing about all those devices is that we have to carry then in some way whether it's by hand, strapped to our belts or stuffed in our pockets.

At the Consumer Electronics show in Las Vegas I saw something that would leave your hands free and your ears open for all that traffic that's buzzing around you. It's called the iCap and rests on your head and has an MP3 Player with 1GB of RAM plus it has space for an 8GB SD Card for 8 times more music. It also has an FM Stereo Tuner with 20 memory presets and an antenna booster. Plus, there's a Voice Recorder, 2 Speakers and guess what? It's a cap!!

The iCap is completely wireless, so you don't have to put up with anymore annoying headphone wires. It's totally safe preventing earbud related hearing damage so you can hear all the traffic hazards around you and is legal on bicycles and motorcycles although it does have an earbud jack if you've just got to have your buds you've got em'. My favorite feature is it has something called SRS WOW which gives you a three dimensional sound to your music complete surrounding your head.

The iCap will last 6 hours on the speakers or 30 hours with earbuds on a full charge and retails for $99.95.
