Any Car, Any Color

Any Car, Any Color
by Gary Woods

This week's title is homage to the late great Earl Scheib who used to show up a lot on local late night TV. He ran an auto body shop and would paint your car or any car, any color for an incredibly low amount of money.

Anyway, this week's device kind of reminded of Earl because it does so much. The product is the Satechi ( Smart Travel Router/Travel Adapter with USB Port for charging iOS, Android, Windows, Blackberry, MP3 devices and more in the US, Canada, Mexico, the UK, the EU, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong and China. Now try to say that three times fast!!!

There are four networking modes where it can function as a standard router enabling you to create your own network. Or, it can act as a repeater if you have another router. It can also be an Access Point if you only have an Ethernet port or an Ethernet cable is available and it can be a Client connecting such devices as a Smart TV or video game via an Ethernet cable.

The only part I wasn't crazy about after they mentioned all those countries that it would work in is that it just has the various prongs for different areas. You have to provide your own electrical converter which means that basically any electronic device I own could work anyplace in the world if I had the property converter.

It's still a pretty cool device and for $45 directly from them or if you are a savvy shopper you can find it for $21.99 at Amazon.
