Back In a Flash
by Gary Woods
I've written several articles about backing up your computer. But do you people listen??? Okay, maybe some of you do but there is a lot of data out there that needs backing up NOW!!! One system I saw at the Consumer Electronics Show looked pretty simple and relatively in-expensive so I thought I'd charge up that backup mountain one more time.
"Back in a Flash" (www.backinaflash.com) is a USB stick which automatically backs up your files every day and can resuscitate your computer if it crashes. There is essentially no installation with the device. You plug it into a USB port and click once. Your backed-up files are stored inside the unit daily without your lifting a finger.
If your computer every crashes, "Back in a Flash" allows you to restart the computer and get right back to work in a flash. You can create documents, spreadsheets and presentations and more importantly, open and edit your own files that are stored inside the device via your daily backups.
As an extra added feature "Back in a Flash" allows you to surf the Web, do e-mail and Instant Messaging, listen to music, play movies and more even while your computer is crashed.
"Back in a Flash" is compatible with Windows Vista, XP and 2000 and is available in 4 different storage sizes from 3.5 GB to 31.5GB ranging in price from $49.95 to $189.95. "Back in a Flash" is the simplest way I've seen to get your important stuff backed up so how about giving yourself a break and back up your data.
