Carbonite Is Everywhere

As you probably know every time you synchronize your iPhone with iTunes there's a backup made of all your apps, settings, music and videos so if your phone gets stolen, lost or damaged you can get everything back pronto. But, as you also probably know the iPhone has become so much more allowing you to access a whole lot things you never could before.

Some of things you'd probably like to access are on your computer back at the office or home and some of those things might actually have been inadvertently deleted. I've been bugging you for years to back everything on your computers so if something goes wrong you can get it back and the latest craze for backing up data is online services like Carbonite ( or Mozy ( Carbonite is $55 per year for unlimited backup and Mozy is free for up to2GB of space.

Recently Carbonite introduced a new feature for the iPhone which is a free app allowing you to connect to your Carbonite account online. The cool thing about Carbonite is that even if your computers are turned off you can get at your data.

A second app for accessing your data anytime is DropBox ( which is also a free download and provides 2GB of free online storage for you. Carbonite is a more complete solution but I use DropBox to store files and programs I'll need when out and about. You can never have too many backups so check them both out.
