I've Seen the Light
by Gary Woods
I've gotten pretty slick with the virtual keyboard on my iPad and even the much smaller one on my iPhone but there are still times where I hunger for the feel of a real keyboard under my big greasy paws. I've got an Apple Bluetooth Keyboard in the back of my Candy Red Explorer but I always worry about when I need it will the batteries have gone the way of all good things.
To soothe my worries about being out of power the Logitech Company came up with their Wireless Solar Keyboard K760. It's a full-size 11.5 inch wide keyboard that looks right at home in front of a Mac but it's also designed to work with iPads and iPhones with its F-keys providing special features for Macs and iOS devices.
The Bluetooth keyboard has the ability to pair with up to three devices and can easily switch between them at the press of a button. The K760 has low-profile short-travel keys and to my touch anyway are slightly easier to press than Apple's Bluetooth Keyboard.
The keyboard can draw power to recharge its battery even from dim ambient light in your home or outside in the sun. Retailing for about $80 directly from Logitech or Amazon I think Logitech has come up with a very good solution for that nagging problem of, do I have enough power to finish this report?
