Just Swipe It

Have you bought anything from the Apple Store lately? If you have when you're ready to buy this bright, young, attractive person comes over to you and asks you for a credit card. They then whip out what looks like an iPhone with a credit card reader it and the next thing you know you're getting an email receipt. At the time I read in an article in Macworld that what the Apple Store was employing was a proprietary solution employed only in Apple Stores, well guess what? Now Mophie (http://www.mophie.com/) has come up with a solution you can use in your own business.
The Mophie Marketplace works with the iPhone 3G/3GS turning your phone into a mobile payment solution that is fast, secure and ready to go wherever you go. It is a light-weight, form fitting, intelligent case solution for any merchant looking to drive sales. The hardware is a magnetic strip reader concealed inside of a low-profile, soft-touch case and the software completes the sale and generates a receipt. The software uses digital signatures and paperless receipts make the ability to take payments virtually anywhere, instantly emailing receipts to your customers.
The device immediately encrypts the scanned data so no information is actually stored on the phone and you can charge your phone and sync your account information using the included USB cable without removing the "marketplace" from your phone.
At this point the Mophie Marketplace isn't out so I'm unaware of a price point that's been established but it should be in the Apple and App Store shortly.
