For years I've used a program called Act to store my Database. It's a very good program used by a lot of people but my problem was that I never could make the email portion of the program work correctly for me. Consequently I used Eudora for my Email. This is another very good program but by using this program I had one database for email in one place and another database for contacts in another place.
One reason I continued to use Act was that I could share the Calendar and Contacts with my wife. The database actually resided on my wife's computer and I just networked with her to be able to share everything.
I knew I had to make a change sooner or later but the problem was to combine everything onto Outlook I couldn't really share the data with her without setting up an Exchange Server which was real overkill for our 2 person office.
Then a program called SynchPST (http://www.synchpst.com/ $39.95 basic $69.95 pro) popped up on my screen. A PST file is everything for Outlook. It's all your Contacts, Calendar, Email, everything!! So by being able to synchronize the PST file on my computer with the one on my wife's machine we can still share Calendar, Contacts and Email.
To complete my new homogenous life style I went out and bought a Windows Mobile 6 Phone (the Samsung i760) which also synchs with Outlook, receives Email and has an Internet connection. So for at least this brief moment in my life everything is synchronized.
