Magic Earthband Rocks!
by Gary Woods
We live in a very creative community. Musicians, actors and artists abound throughout our wonderful town and sometimes these talented folk wear more than one hat. A case in point is Winnie Swalley who up until now has been known as an irreverent film producer, screenwriter and trained singer. But now she has added video game developer to her resume.
Winnie's company, SwalleyLama Vision LLC has come up with an iPhone App called Magic Earthwand. Residing in the category of "casual games" this software provides a short and simple experience like Tetris, Bejeweled or Solitaire that people play as brief diversions.
The game play for Magic Earthwand simulates the physics of the classic child cup-and-ball game. But, instead of a cup and ball the objects are daggers made of earthly elements like marble, amber and crystal strung to ruby rings and the kicker is that the rings represent three handsome princes.
The princes are assigned as guardians to the Earth's animals, vegetables and minerals and have been tricked and robbed of love and turned into "Magic Earthwands." The player's job is to help the princes regain their human forms by playing the game through successively challenging levels.
The graphics are really stunning and the music for the game is fun. You can give it a look at http://magicearthwand.com/ and you can learn a little more about the company at http://dailyappshow.com/magic-earthwand. The app is on sale at the iTunes App Store for the not so princely sum of 99 cents.
