Man I hate moving. When I was a kid my dad was in the Navy so we moved every two years and then when I got married we moved 4 times within a 5 mile radius in the next 20 years. Thankfully we've lived in our house now for almost 10 years and definitely aren't thinking about moving but I am thinking about migrating to a new computer. I'm 5 years deep on my current machine and sooner or later I've got to move on.
With Microsoft 7 poking its nose around the corner I started looking for moving strategies. I found a very cool cable from Vantec (www.vantecusa.com) called the ezShare Adapter. This device will work with Windows OS XP and up. You just plug one end into an available USB port and plug the other end into the second box and start dragging and dropping.
A Windows Explorer-like app will automatically launch on each machine letting you move and copy folders and files between the two PCs. An extra added bonus is that for folks who work in both the Mac and PC world's ezShare will allow you to move files between both operating system as long as the Mac is OS 10.4 or greater. You get the same Windows Explorer like view and ability to drag and drop files between the two machines.
This cable retails for just $27 so it could be a great way to make the leap from XP to 7 or move some of those old photos and files off of Mac OS to their new home.
