On the Road Again!

On the Road Again!
by Gary Woods

For all of you who spend a good deal of time on the road, or even just in your car going from appointment to appointment I've found a few things that might make your day a little cooler.

First up, power is always a problem when you're on the road. Trying to keep your laptop or PDA charged can be a real pain. To help with this problem I found an APC Power-Ready Notebook Case Roller. It's basically a laptop bag with plenty of pockets for things and rollers so you don't break your back toting around your stuff. But the fun part about this bag is that it has the capacity to charge up to three devices at a time with a universal power adapter via any airplane, auto or AC power outlet. All for $89.99, how cool is that??

Second there's the Kingston Datatraveler Elite. This USB drive lets you create a secure password protected partition on the drive and manages file synchronization between devices. It's $399.99 for the 4GB down to $68 for 256MB.

Finally I saw a Plustek Opticslim M12 Corporate scanner. It connects via USB to your laptop and with the software bundle you can scan and Optically Character Recognize a file in a single step then send it to Microsoft Word. Weighing in at only .7 pounds this scanner can go anyplace. It's a very handy device for $399.
