Why Won't it Fit on the Page???
by Gary Woods

One of the most irritating things I encounter when cruising around the Internet is trying to print out what's on screen. Some of the text on the right always gets cut off. To work around this I usually hit Ctrl-A to select all the text then Ctrl-C to copy it to the clipboard. I then open up Word and hit Ctrl-V to paste the text. Is that cumbersome or what????

There is an alternative. A company called Software995 http://www.pdf995.com has a product called PDF995 that converts any web page to an Acrobat Document. PDF995 is a free download and what it does is add a simulated printer to your system. In the Printing Preferences section of the PDF995 printer you set the paper dimension to a large size such as A3 or tabloid. Then, when you print a Web page, it simply sends the page to the PDF995 printer. This creates a PdDF file, which you can then print from Adobe Acrobat Reader.

When printing from Acrobat, be sure to check the box labeled Shrink over-sized pages to paper size. Acrobat will reduce the Web page to fit your printer's paper size automatically. You'll never miss a right-hand section of a page again. The only downside is that PDF995 will display an ad on your printed page. If you don't want that ad it's $9.95. But at least you can try it for free before you buy.
