Plop Plop, Fizz Fizz

It seems like everything is wireless these days. We get our internet connection through the air, we print through the air and we move our pictures from our camera to our desktop through the air. The one thing that would be nice to make wireless would be getting our power through the air. The idea of wireless chargers has been kicking around for a while and at least one company I know of has offered a solution.
Powermat (http://www.powermat.com/) has come up with a couple of devices that address wireless power. One looks kind of like a small skateboard without the wheels and the other looks kind of like 3 thin slices of bread that fold out and lie flat. These two devices which both retail for about $100 allow you to place a device with an appropriate adapter on them and they will charge that device without plugging it in.
There are adaptors for most of the popular phones and electronic devices including the iPhone, iPod, Blackberry phones, Nintendo DS as well as many others. The adapters' retail for between $30 and $40 and you just snap them on the back of your device once and you're good to go. After that just place your device on the mat and it will start charging.
When a device in "Plopped" on the mat there's an audio confirmation and a little light comes on indicating that charging is occurring. After charging is complete the power is automatically shut-off. Powermat is pretty cool and definitely gets rid of a lot of the clutter when charging your devices.
