In Real Estate we email forms to people all the time. To make the document legal the recipient has to print out the contact then sign it and either scan and email it back to us or FAX it. There have been various devices to create electronic signatures and then affix them on documents; we use something called DocuSign in Real Estate. I've also seen little pads that you write on and that writing becomes a graphic which can be affixed to a document. But unless you are remotely sending your signature a lot most of the electronic signature solutions are kind of cumbersome.

Recently I saw a piece of electronic signature software called Autograph from Ten One Design ( that runs just on the MacBook Pro. It works in Word, Pages, Mail, iChat and many other applications. You don't have to waste time scanning your signature you just write it on the track pad of your Mac or on a Wacom Drawing tablet and one keystroke inserts it in the document.

If you mess up your signature a three-finger swipe left or right will undo or redo what you wrote. The package also includes a little tutorial on what makes a signature uniquely yours. Autograph retails for the low, low price of just $6.95 so if you've got a MacBook Pro running Snow Leopard and just can't wait to sign your name and send it out over the Internet this is your chance.
