So Many Sounds Part 4

So Many Sounds, Part 4
by Gary Woods

Last week we talked about Home Theatre with the Playbar and Sub rocking the house. This week it’s time to bring it all together. When I started this series I was talking about all the different ways we listen to audio these days. From Pandora to iTunes to SiriusXM to Netflix there are a lot of options and to bring it all together Sonos has their Controller Apps. The Apps let you browse and play your music from any device whether it’s your smartphone, table or computer you can stream different songs into each rooms or group rooms together.

With the Sonos Apps you can control all the different music service subscriptions in the household. Currently Sonos supports more than 30 services in the US alone. This allows you to easily find the music you love by searching across all your music sources without worrying about whether a certain piece of music is on only one device.

There’s no programming involved in setting up the controller.  Essentially any smart device connects to any Sonos speaker anywhere connected to your Wireless Network. For iOS devices the app works with iOS 6.0 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. But it’s optimized for iPhone 5, iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. Sonos also makes software for Windows Devices the Mac and Android phones and tablets so no matter where your tunes are coming from there’s an app for you.

Well that’s my series on So Many Sounds, thanks for reading!
