Sounds Good to Me
by Gary Woods
If you like falling asleep with the sound of your favorite tunes or TV shows playing in your ears, then check out the Sound Oasis Sleep Therapy Pillow (www.sound-oasis.com) by Sound Oasis. The pillow has pockets that contain ultra thin speakers within either end of the pillow which connect to any device that accepts a 1/8 inch headphone jack. The sound quality of these small speakers was surprisingly good and didn't impact the pillow's comfort.
If you need help trying to get to sleep and your own music isn't getting the job done then the company also has a unique sound tinnitus therapy product that allows you to create your very own sound environment conducive to relaxation, sleep and improvement of everyday life. The system bathes a room with authentic sounds of nature which block out irritating noises.
The Sound Oasis incorporates a multi-position timer with 4 selections from continuous to 30, 60 or minute interval all of which have a "gradual off" volume reduction feature. Some of the therapeutic sounds designed to help you relax and relieve you of stress include Ocean Surf, Stream, Rain and Summer Night and Wind sounds to lull you to sleep. They also have various versions of white noise which will mask irritating sounds disturbing your rest.
The Therapy Pillow retails for $49.99 and the Sound Oasis Therapy system also sells from $49.99. If you'd like some of the other sound libraries they cost $4.99 each.
