TV on the Go, Go, Go
by Gary Woods
I love TV. We've got a 58" Samsung Plasma and it's a wonder to see. But right up there on the love scale is my iPad. These days that little jewel is never more than an arm's length away so when something comes along that allows me to use my iPad and control what I see on the TV I'm one happy camper.
The first App I found was from Cox Cable. It's a freebie and with it you can program your Digital Video Recorder anywhere you've got internet access. Also, if you have your phone with Cox, which we do, it can act as a call log allowing you to see all your incoming and outgoing calls as well as controlling whether you want your calls forwarded or if you want to turn Voice Mail on or off.
The second App I found is called HBO Go. If you've got a an HBO subscription with Cox, Charter, Comcast, DirectTV, Dish or AT&T you put in your account information and you can access Movies, Series, Comedy, Sports & Documentaries on an On Demand basis not just what is currently playing on HBO.
To complete my entertainment package there's an App from Netflix. For $8 a month me and my iPad are never going to be bored again waiting for my wife at the hair dresser and sitting in a doctor's office.
Yup, it's a wonderful world when you've got TV everywhere and anywhere you want to view it.
