We've talked about losing your phone and getting it back, but what about if it's gone forever and you're afraid somebody with nefarious intentions has got it. In that event TenCube's WaveSecure which is available for the Android, BlackBerry, Symbian S60, and Windows Mobile phones could be the answer. For $20 annually, WaveSecure enables you to track the location of your phone, monitor its call log, and detect whether someone has changed its SIM card all via a web browser.
With WaveSecure, if your phone is lost or stolen you will quickly have a pretty good idea of where it is and what it's up to. Besides identifying where your phone is located you can also remotely backup the contents of your phone to a remote server and then wipe all of your data from the device.
For the iPhone Apple offers a similar tracking service called Find My iPhone. But, you can get Find My iPhone only as a component of Apple's MobileMe service which costs $99 annually or $149 for a four-user family pack.
Palm Pre owners can get similar features by signing up for Where is My Pre available as a premium service for $2 per month added to your cell bill. With this application you can modify the phone's preferences remotely and even take pictures with the phone's Webcam to see who's holding it.
So if you've got stuff on your phone that you definitely don't want anybody else to have check out WaveSecure, Find My iPhone or Where is My Pre.
