What'd I Say???
by Gary Woods
Being in sales I spend a lot of time in the car. I'm either driving a client around showing property of driving to an appointment. The point to all this is I can't write things down while I'm out there on the road but there's definitely some stuff I need to remember. To help me keep my calendar, emails, text messages and everything else together Chuck Farish of Coldwell Banker Montecito suggested I look at Jott (www.jott.com).
After signing up for a free Jott account you can speak into your phone which creates a note that is sent to the Jott servers where the audio is converted to text and then synced back to your phone.
Once your audio has been converted you can create to-do lists, email yourself or others text reminders and send out group messages. Jott interfaces with Google Calendar, Twitter, Amazon, Blogger and Remember the Milk. Plus you can get feeds from Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo Sports, Huffington Post and SmartMoney.
There are versions of Jott available for Outlook, iPhone, Blackberry and iGoogle so whichever flavor of cell phone you use Jott should have you covered.
A basic Jott plan is free giving you 15 seconds of record time and unlimited voice to text notes. The only caveat is the free plan is ad-supported. If you can't deal with the ads for $3.95 per month you can get the same service without the ads, and for $12.95 per month you get 30 seconds of record time plus individual emails to manage your to-do lists.
