Where's My Stuff?
by Gary Woods
After all the fires we've had in Santa Barbara probably the most popular commodity in town is a safety deposit box. We all took pictures like crazy of our home and its contents and dutifully went down to the safety deposit and stuffed those pictures in there.
Those pictures are great but your insurance company is going to need a little more documentation and for that I found MyStuff Pro 2 by Minder Softworks http://www.mindersoftworks.com/products/mystuff/. This little $29 program has a barcode scanner a built-in web browser and keeps track of insurance information as well as manufacturer & vendor information.
In short MyStuff keeps track of all your possession by grouping then into categories, recording their value and even reminding you when warranties expire. You can input the data using either your Mac's or smart phone's camera to scan the item's UPC barcode. So, if a time ever comes when you need to provide an inventory of all your stuff the program will produce a neatly printed spreadsheet with all the pertinent details.
But, MyStuff is not just a home inventory program you can also use it to keep track of whatever you want in your home or business like your wine cellar or those old vinyl records you haven't played in 20 years.
There is really no limit to the kinds of things you can track using PDFs, images, video, audio spreadsheets or text tiles. You know you need to keep track of this stuff so MyStuff Pro is a great way to do it.
