You're Outta' Here
by Gary Woods
I read somewhere the other day that more photos are taken with the iPhone than any camera in the world. That may be true; people are definitely out there clicking their little hearts out. But guess what, not all of those pictures are great, and lot of them have stuff in them we wish weren't there.
To remove some of those unwanted objects from your pictures the mac App Store has an in-expensive little App by MacPhun http://macphun.com/ called Snapheal 1.0. The App is currently selling for $5.99 in the App Store and the feature list is truly impressive. This little jewel will remove unwanted objects from an image. Make skin imperfections vanish, erase unwanted text like watermarks and enhance photos with the clone and stamp tools. It will also lighten dark images, sharpen edges or add blur and adjust the saturation, gamma, light levels and shadows plus a whole lot more.
The interface is intuitive and well laid out allowing you to preview the results, compare the resulting image with the original and switch between tool panels with a mouse click.
I've used PhotoShop for years but sometimes it feels like massive overkill to fire it up just to fix some blemishes or take out an unwanted object from a picture. Snapheal 1.0 feels like a good fit when you're just getting ready to post some pictures on Twitter or Facebook and for $5.99 I think it's a great price.
