2 Ways ToGo
by Gary Woods
Ever since I got the iPad I've enjoyed reading books on it. It's so convenient to have a lot books in one place that I can pick up with one hand and getting those books downloaded to my device couldn't be easier. A lot of times we'll be watching television and some author will come and my wife will ask me to get her that book. With a few keystrokes before the author is even on the stage the book is downloaded to her iPad.
Reading is great but every now and then we'll go on long car trips and I'll think, wouldn't it be cool if there was an audio book service that could keep us supplied with interesting books. There are a lot sources for audio books like the iTunes Store, Audible.com, Amazon.com and you can buy books on CD but in the last few years we've been looking at owning less stuff. In fact when I buy a hard cover book the first thing I do is figure out who to give it to.
But, what about a monthly rental service that would keep us supplied with as many books as we cared to listen to. That's when Audiobooks.com popped up. For $25 per month Audiobooks.com will keep you well supplied.
The Audiobooks.com website is easy to navigate, and all you need to do to start listening to a book is click a button. A small window opens in your browser or, if you're on a mobile device such as an iPhone the book opens in a new tab or window. Then, you can pause, play and adjust the audio volume. If you start listening to a book while you're out you can pause it then pick it up where you left off on your computer.
Audiobooks.com and is a subsidiary of Simply Audiobooks which offers a similar all you can listen to service for audiobook CD rentals. If you travel a lot or just like listening to books instead reading them this could be a cool way to go.
