With the attacks from Blaster and SoBig.f so much in the news for the past few weeks I thought it was a good time to look at some of the steps that you can take to keep people out of your stuff. There are a few pretty inexpensive solutions and even some that are free.
So before you leave the front door open for every hacker, worm, trojan horse and good old ordinary viruses, please give a look at Firewalls and You!!!
Posted by gandlwoods at August 29, 2003 01:18 PMtoo bad they can't figure out a way to stop these worms before they hit your firewall, even with my router, cable modem, and hub, my 2K box still got nailed, after about 2 hours of running Mcaffee, Norton, and installing the various patches, I was finally free of the worms. They need to invent some kind of software the checks your router/connection to the internet for attacks and try to stop them there. If there is such software out there, is it any good?
